Despite the existence of so-called "FEMA camps" being widely regarded as an being internet conspiracy myth, once again legislation is being introduced which would make them all too real.

I usually avoid them as a source, but this story is up on Prison Planet as well:

New Legislation Authorizes FEMA Camps In U.S.

Well, if we don't have even have any decent American chocolate anymore (see story on Hershey removing cocoa butter from candies) -- I may as well volunteer for the FEMA camp and go die. Goodbye, cruel world!

Americans aren't particularly good at making chocolate anyway, although Ghirardelli is made in the USA.

The next piece has been added to the puzzle, and the picture is starting to become all too real,

I think this is a very good document, less item (4) "others uses as we designate". Not good.

The re-use and re-habilitation of old bases will help revitalize area economies, and the investment in a functional, and sustainable, emergency operations centers is just what our local agencies (police, fire, EMS, etc.) are in dire need of. Other than the "free reign" provision (which needs to be struck or significantly modified), I would support it.

Ironic how the candidate-now-President of 'change' is ominously silent on this one. I always had trouble with Obama's rather vacuous promises; I like substance. Now we have our Congress planning evacuation centers for 'emergencies' on military bases. Why would ANYONE in their right mind want to be evacuated during an emergency to a military base? A ghetto by any other name...

It's time to hold Congress accountable for their actions and misdeeds. They have signed off on far too many surrenders of our civil liberties, with no concern for their fellow citizens. I say we need to end this two-party oligarchic farce, and introduce a parliamentary system which encourages multiple parties. I don't mean to digress, but as a nation we must punish Congress for their blatant acts of treason. No exceptions.
